Priyanka Gandhi Criticizes BJP-led Govt, Vows to Protect India’s Spirit in Wayanad Visit

WAYANAD, Dec 1: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched a fierce criticism of the BJP-led government on Sunday, claiming that the current struggle is against a force weakening the rights of the people and handing them over to a few business magnates. Addressing a gathering in Mananthavady, she emphasized, “Today, we are fighting for the soul of India, for the very spirit of our nation.”

Kicking off the second day of her visit to the Wayanad constituency, Priyanka condemned the actions of the ruling government, saying it is relentlessly working to dismantle the institutions that form the foundation of the country. She vowed to stand firmly alongside the people of Wayanad, fighting “shoulder to shoulder” with them for their rights and needs.

On her second day of the two-day visit to the hill district, Priyanka Gandhi also addressed public meetings at Sulthan Bathery at 12:15 pm and Kalpetta at 1:30 pm. The meetings were part of her ongoing tour to engage with the residents of Wayanad, a constituency represented by her brother, Rahul Gandhi.

Priyanka’s visit follows her successful maiden electoral victory in Wayanad, where she secured a resounding win in the bypolls with a margin of 4,10,931 votes—an even larger lead than her brother Rahul’s victory in the general elections earlier this year. Throughout her visit, Priyanka Gandhi has underscored her commitment to the people of Wayanad and her determination to safeguard the values and democratic institutions of India from perceived threats posed by the current administration.
