New Delhi, Aug 19:Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed her condolences on Monday following the tragic death of CRPF Inspector Kuldeep Kumar in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district. She emphasized that the entire country stands united against terrorism and unequivocally condemns such acts of violence. The incident occurred as fresh bloodshed erupted in the Jammu region, where terrorists targeted a patrol party of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the local police.

The attack took place around 3:30 PM in the remote Dudu area of Basantgarh, where CRPF personnel and SOG members were conducting an area domination exercise. According to officials, terrorists opened fire on the joint patrol, during which CRPF Inspector Kuldeep Kumar, from the 187th battalion, was struck by a bullet. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital.

In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), Priyanka Gandhi expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Inspector Kumar. A police spokesperson provided additional details, confirming that an exchange of fire occurred between the terrorists and the joint forces during the area domination exercise at Chill village in Dudu. The ongoing operation led to the unfortunate loss of Inspector Kumar, who attained martyrdom as a result of his injuries. The operation continues as security forces intensify their efforts to neutralize the remaining terrorists in the area.

Inspector Kumar’s mortal remains were transported to the district headquarters for post-mortem. This tragic incident adds to the rising toll of terror-related fatalities in Jammu and Kashmir this year, bringing the total to 74.
