Rahul Gandhi to Launch Nationwide Student Outreach Campaign Over Exam Scam Row from June 17

Congress campaign to begin in Kota, focus on examination irregularities, recruitment concerns and challenges faced by students across the country

New Delhi, June 13 : Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi is set to begin a nationwide outreach campaign aimed at addressing issues affecting students and young aspirants, with a series of large scale conventions scheduled across key cities from June 17.

The initiative, announced by Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal, will commence in Kota, Rajasthan, a major educational hub known for its coaching institutes. The programme will subsequently travel to Allahabad on July 10, Patna on July 11, and Delhi on July 14, with additional events expected in other parts of the country.

The conventions are intended to provide a platform for students, job seekers, youth groups, teachers and others impacted by recent controversies surrounding competitive examinations and recruitment processes. Congress leaders said the gatherings will focus on concerns related to transparency, accountability and fairness in the education system.

Rahul Gandhi is expected to interact directly with participants and hear their experiences regarding examination-related challenges. The Congress has maintained that repeated irregularities in major entrance and recruitment tests have created uncertainty for millions of students and affected their academic and professional aspirations.

In recent months, Gandhi has repeatedly highlighted issues linked to alleged lapses in various examinations, including the NEET-UG paper leak controversy, concerns raised over CBSE’s on screen marking process and technical disruptions reported during the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). He has accused the Centre of failing to safeguard the interests of students and ensure a credible examination framework.

According to party leaders, the campaign aims to bring national attention to the growing frustration among young people over educational and employment-related concerns. The conventions will also seek suggestions from students and experts on strengthening examination systems and improving opportunities for the country’s youth.

The Congress believes the series of events will help amplify the voices of students who feel affected by recurring controversies and administrative shortcomings. Party leaders have described the campaign as an effort to initiate a broader discussion on educational reforms, merit-based opportunities and the future of India’s youth.

With thousands of students expected to participate in the upcoming conventions, the programme is likely to become a major component of the Congress party’s outreach efforts in the months ahead.
