Rahul unfurled Tricolour at Lal Chowk after Nehru in 1948– another big lie by Cong: Purnima
JAMMU: Advocate Purnima Sharma, Spokesperson BJP J&K and former Deputy Mayor on Sunday refuted the claim that Rahul Gandhi unfurled Tricolour at Lal Chowk after Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru in 1948 by terming the same as another big lie by the Congress.
Addressing a gathering here, the BJP’s Spokesperson said that there is no truth in the assertion as Congress leadership is brazenly playing politics on the National Flag by twisting facts and figures.
The BJP Spokesperson alleged that Congress is marred with memory loss because just a year ago, the entire Kashmir was bloomed with hoisting of National Flags as every nook and corner including the Lal Chowk was witness to this unique ‘phenomenon’ whereby people came on roads and buildings to hoist the Tricolour. She said that the quantum of love for Tricolour was so colossal that Kashmir province faced shortage of National Flags and those stitching the same had to work overtime to cope up with the shortage.
The former Deputy Mayor said that the Congress leadership should thank PM Narendra Modi for scrapping the contentious Article 370 because had the special status of J&K remained intact, it would not have been possible for Rahul Gandhi to even think of standing at Lal Chowk in Srinagar. She said that the credit of bringing National Flag culture to the Valley goes to BJP and its strong leadership because under the Congress regimes, anti-nationals used to rule the roost and often disgrace the things which are of utmost importance for India and Indians.
The senior BJP leader also slammed Mehbooba for her statement after participating in Bharat Jodo Yatra. She said that due to wrong policies of NC, Congress and PDP, terrorism sprouted in the Valley and the situation turned grim in this part of India.
Purnima Sharma was interacting with people after the Mann Ki Baat programme organized at Booth No 129 in Jammu East constituency. She appealed people to support the pro-people policies of Modi Government for equitable development of Jammu and Kashmir.
