Rain And Thunderstorm Spell Expected To Continue Across J&K Till Saturday
Weather experts warn of gusty winds, lightning and isolated hailstorm activity in vulnerable areas
Srinagar, May 21: Intermittent rain and thundershower activity is likely to persist across several parts of Jammu and Kashmir till Saturday, with the Kashmir Valley expected to experience comparatively higher weather activity over the next few days.
According to weather observers, brief but intense spells of rainfall may occur at isolated locations, accompanied by gusty winds, lightning and the possibility of hailstorms in some areas.
The latest Jammu and Kashmir weather update indicated that while scattered showers are expected across the Union Territory, there is no forecast for prolonged or continuous rainfall during this period.
Authorities and weather experts have advised residents living in vulnerable and hilly regions to remain alert, especially during thunderstorm activity and sudden changes in weather conditions.
Travellers and commuters have also been urged to exercise caution due to the possibility of reduced visibility, slippery roads and localized disruptions caused by strong winds and heavy showers.
The advisory comes as several districts in the Kashmir region continue to witness fluctuating temperatures and unstable weather patterns associated with seasonal atmospheric disturbances.
