Rajouri Anti-Terror Operation Continues Into 14th Day Amid Intensive Search Efforts

Multi-agency teams continue coordinated searches across remote Manjakote areas following intelligence-based deployment

Rajouri, Jun 6: Security forces have stepped up surveillance and search efforts in the forested stretches of Gambhir Mughlan and Dorimal in Rajouri’s Manjakote sector as Operation Sheruwali entered its fourteenth day on Friday.

The ongoing mission involves a coordinated deployment of personnel from the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who are combing difficult terrain in an effort to locate suspected terrorists believed to be operating in the area.

As part of heightened security measures, checkpoints have been established along key routes, with security personnel verifying the identities of commuters and local residents. Patrols have also been strengthened in vulnerable pockets to prevent any movement by the suspects.

Officials said the operation was launched after specific intelligence inputs suggested the presence of armed militants in the region. Since then, multiple teams have been conducting systematic searches across dense forest zones and adjoining areas.

The strategy focuses on maintaining a tight security grid around the suspected hideouts while restricting possible escape routes. Search parties equipped with advanced surveillance equipment continue to scan the rugged landscape, which presents significant operational challenges.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies. The operation remains active, with forces determined to ensure that the area is thoroughly sanitized and any potential threat neutralized.
