Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ Screens for Just Rs 16 in Karachi, Viral Video Stuns Fans

A viral video by Karl Rock reveals the alleged sale of the Dhurandhar DVD at a piracy hub, even as the film trends on Netflix across borders.

Karachi, Feb 13 : Pirated copies of Dhurandhar have reportedly appeared in Pakistan, drawing attention after a viral social media video showed the film being sold openly at Karachi’s well known Rainbow Centre.

During a walk through the crowded marketplace, YouTuber Karl Rock expressed surprise at spotting stacks of Indian movie DVDs despite the longstanding ban on their theatrical release in Pakistan. Vendors were seen offering the recently released spy thriller for just PKR 50   roughly ₹16.

The film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Rock also highlighted the actor’s Sindhi heritage, noting that Singh’s grandparents migrated to India during Partition.

While pirated versions circulate in local markets, the espionage drama has simultaneously gained digital traction. After its streaming debut on Netflix on January 30, the movie climbed into the platform’s Top 10 charts in multiple countries, including Pakistan, and also featured among the global non-English titles.

Originally released in Indian theatres in December, the film features an ensemble cast with several prominent actors and has performed strongly with audiences. A sequel is already scheduled for release, signalling the franchise’s growing popularity.

The incident has once again spotlighted cross-border consumption of Indian entertainment content and the persistent challenge of film piracy in the region.
