Red Fort Blast Case: NIA Custody of Accused Soyab Extended by 10 Days
Delhi court allows further custodial interrogation as probe into White-Collar terror module continues
New Delhi, Dec 5: A Delhi court on Friday extended the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) custody of Soyab, a Faridabad resident accused of aiding Red Fort bomber Umar-un Nabi, for an additional 10 days.
Soyab was produced before Principal and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna at Patiala House Court, following the expiry of his previous 10-day custody granted on November 26. Media personnel were barred from covering the proceedings.
The NIA requested the extension to conduct further interrogation of Soyab in connection with the Red Fort blast. Soyab, a resident of Dhauj in Haryana’s Faridabad, is accused of providing logistical support to Umar-un Nabi ahead of the terror attack.
He is the seventh individual arrested in the case, which is linked to a “white-collar” terror module uncovered by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The NIA continues to pursue leads across states in coordination with local police forces to identify and apprehend others involved in the attack.
The agency has stated that the investigation into the Red Fort blast is ongoing, with searches and interrogations aimed at dismantling the terror network responsible for the incident.
