Removing of statute of Dr Ambedkar & Gandhi ji from Parliament will be opposed
Jammu, 21 June 2024: R K Kalsotra, State President, Dalit, OBC and Minority Confederation (DOM) J&K issued a statement here today evening and said that the statues of Dr. Ambedkar and Gandhi ji were removed from the prominent place in the Parliament so that their influence could be eliminated. All the statues of great men installed in the premises of the Parliament are respected fully, but in some cases the contributions of Gandhiji and Dr. Ambedkar Sahib are different, the Modi government wants to reduce their stature. This will not be tolerated and there will be continuous opposition to it. There was a fierce struggle to install the statue of Dr. Ambedkar, only then the statue could be installed in 1967. When the statue was being installed, was it not done thoughtfully at that time? In fact, the Modi government is mostly engaged in destroying heritage. All these destructions are being done with the intention of becoming great themselves.
Kalsotra said Dr Udit Raj National Chairman (DOM) said at the National Capital Delhi that on 26th June, various organizations will hold a protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. and further said that whether the Constitution is abolished or Baba Saheb’s statue is vandalized or reservation is abolished, government establishments and departments are privatized or constitutional institutions are weakened or any other major loss or injustice happens, Bahujan Samaj Party Supremo Ms. Mayawati has neither to speak nor give the right to the party people to speak. The entire party has been destroyed in helping the BJP. Those who follow Kanshi Ram ji and believe in Bahujan Sukhay and Bahujan Hitaay will have to unite again. Such people should make an alternative.
Kalsotra further said that another big leader Rajendra Pal Gautam, MLA (AAP), former Minister – Delhi Government has also said that Dr. Ambedkar & Gandhi ji’s statue was installed at the most prominent place. That place had become the sacred place of democracy. When the voice of the opposition was suppressed, MPs used to go there and protest. Spectators from the country and abroad also came to watch.
Kalsotra further said in his statement that this is a well-thought-out strategy of the rulers to forget Baba Sahib and Gandhi, who are not only saluted in India but in the world for their work of social justice, this will be opposed in entire India along with Jammu and Kashmir. Kalsotra appealed to his cadre and society to be ready to oppose the removing the statute of Baba Sahib and Gandhi Ji
