RFID yatra card causing problems for Mata Vaishno Devi devotees : Rajesh Sadhotra

Katra, 02-10-2022: On the occasion of the Navratra festival there is a huge rush of devotees these days in the base camp of Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. In such a situation, the RFID Yatra Card facility recently launched by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has become a problem for the devotees. Devotees are constantly facing huge problems regarding getting cards. There does not seem to be any better effort on the part of the board to ensure that the devotees get this facility in a better way. Devotees have to stand in long queues to get the yatra card in the scorching sun.

Congress leaders and workers demonstrated vigorously against the Shrine Board administration and the local administration in Katra against the problems being faced by the devotees coming from all over the country to have darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi. Congress workers under the leadership of Congress Committee District President Rajesh Sadhotra demonstrated against the Shrine Board administration and the local administration at the main bus stand of Katra with banners in their hands. He demanded that harassing devotees in the name of RFID travel cards should be stopped.

On this occasion, Rajesh Sadotra said that the RFID Yatra Card issued by Shrine Board Administration has become a big problem for the devotees coming from all over the country to visit Maa Vaishno Devi. To get the Yatra card, the devotees have to stand in constant compulsion with their families in several kilometer-long queues amidst the scorching sun. For the devotees standing in queues for several hours, neither water nor food was arranged for the devotees by the SMVD. Due to this, the condition of the devotees is getting worse in the scorching sun and no one is paying attention to it. Which is a matter of shame for the Shrine Board and the local administration.

Sadhotra demanded that harassing devotees in the name of RFID travel cards should be stopped immediately. The board should make such arrangements so that the travel card is easily available to the devotee. On this occasion, Congress’s Rajkumar Verma, Madan Lal Dogra, Anil Sadotra, Arjun Arora, Karn Thappa, Janu, and Ashu along with other workers were present. Rakesh Sharma, Katra.
