RR Tax’ Regime Prevails in Telangana, Alleges BJP MP K. Laxman in Rajya Sabha

‘RR Tax’ Allegation in Telangana: BJP MP K. Laxman Targets Congress Govt in Rajya Sabha

Hyderabad, Feb 11 : BJP Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman on Tuesday alleged that an “RR tax” regime is prevailing in Telangana, claiming that no work in the state is executed without commissions. He made the remarks while participating in the discussion on the Union Budget in the Rajya Sabha.

Accusing the Congress-led state government of corruption and financial mismanagement, Laxman warned that Telangana is being forced to take fresh loans to service existing debt.

‘No Moral Authority to Speak on Democracy’

The BJP leader further asserted that the Congress lacks the moral authority to lecture others on democratic values. Referring to an incident in the chief minister’s home district, he alleged that a minister had threatened a BJP worker contesting an election and pressured him to withdraw.

“Unable to bear the pressure, the party worker died by suicide,” Laxman claimed, intensifying his criticism of the state administration.

Highlighting development initiatives, Laxman said the BJP-led Central government had delivered several key projects to Telangana. He cited the allocation of five pairs of Vande Bharat trains, three pairs of Amrit Bharat trains, and three high-speed rail corridors.

He also pointed to the establishment of AIIMS, a Tribal University, a Turmeric Board, a wagon factory in Warangal, and the revival of the Ramagundam Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited plant as major contributions under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

“The credit for these developmental initiatives goes to the Modi government,” he said during the debate.

Political Sparring Intensifies

The RR tax allegation in Telangana adds to the growing political friction between the BJP and the Congress in the state, with both sides sharpening their attacks as governance and development remain central points of contention.
