RSS Unveils Nationwide Shakha Expansion Plan at Belagavi Strategy Meet

Senior Sangh leadership deliberates on organisational priorities, nationwide shakha growth, training initiatives and upcoming centenary programmes during three-day strategy session.

Belagavi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has commenced its annual All India Province Pracharak meeting in Belagavi, bringing together its top leadership to assess organisational progress, strengthen grassroots outreach and prepare an action plan for the next phase of its nationwide activities. The three day conference is expected to shape the organisation’s priorities for the coming year while reviewing initiatives undertaken during its centenary celebrations.

RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat is leading the deliberations along with Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale. The gathering includes Sah-Sarkaryavahs, heads of various departments, members of the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal, Kshetra Pracharaks, Sah-Kshetra Pracharaks, Province Pracharaks and representatives from all 46 organisational provinces. Office bearers of several Sangh inspired organisations are also participating in the discussions.

A major agenda of the meeting is evaluating the organisation’s expansion at the grassroots level through its network of shakhas. Senior functionaries are reviewing reports submitted by different provinces regarding training camps conducted after March 2026 and assessing how effectively local units have implemented organisational programmes.

The leadership is also examining the progress achieved under the RSS centenary outreach campaign, which has focused on increasing public participation and establishing new shakhas in different parts of the country. Delegates are discussing ways to sustain the momentum created during the centenary year and identify regions where further organisational strengthening is required.

Another significant component of the conference is the review of events conducted as part of the Sangh’s 100 year celebrations. Functionaries are expected to finalise plans for the remaining programmes scheduled up to Vijayadashami on October 20, when the year long centenary observances will conclude.

The meeting is also expected to discuss Mohan Bhagwat’s nationwide travel schedule for 2026-27. His proposed visits are aimed at interacting with volunteers, reviewing organisational activities in different states and providing guidance on future expansion efforts.

Apart from organisational matters, the conference will focus on improving coordination among various Sangh-inspired organisations and ensuring effective implementation of programmes at the provincial and district levels. The leadership is expected to lay emphasis on volunteer training, social outreach and strengthening communication between different organisational units.

The annual Province Pracharak meeting is regarded as one of the RSS’s most important internal deliberative forums, where senior office-bearers review the organisation’s functioning, evaluate ongoing initiatives and formulate strategies for the coming year.

Meanwhile, the meeting has also triggered political reactions in Karnataka. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President B.K. Hariprasad questioned the purpose of the RSS gathering in Belagavi and remarked that its outcome would be closely watched. Addressing reporters, he said the Congress would respond after observing the developments arising from the meeting.

Hariprasad also referred to the alleged irregularities linked to donations associated with the Ayodhya Ram Temple, reiterating the Congress party’s demand for accountability from the Union government over the matter.

Despite the political exchanges surrounding the event, RSS functionaries have maintained that the Belagavi conference is an internal organisational exercise focused on reviewing achievements, expanding grassroots activities and finalising programmes for the remainder of the centenary year. The outcomes of the deliberations are expected to guide the Sangh’s nationwide activities over the next several months, with particular emphasis on organisational expansion, volunteer training and community outreach.
