RTE Admissions Open in Gujarat, Expanding Access to Free School Education

Over 84,000 seats available for underprivileged children in private schools

Gujarat, Apr 11 : The Gujarat government has launched the Right to Education (RTE) admission process for the 2026 academic year, offering more than 84,000 free seats in private schools for eligible students.

The initiative aims to provide quality education to children from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups. Applications began on April 4 and will remain open until April 17, with the process conducted entirely online for greater transparency and accessibility.

Authorities have outlined eligibility criteria, required documents, and seat allocation procedures to ensure a smooth admission process. Parents are encouraged to apply early to secure placements for their children.

Education experts view the RTE scheme as a crucial step toward reducing educational inequality and promoting social inclusion. By enabling access to private schooling, the initiative helps bridge gaps in learning opportunities across socio-economic backgrounds.

The program continues to play a vital role in strengthening India’s education system by ensuring that every child has access to quality schooling, regardless of financial constraints.
