Russia Claims Control of Krasnoarmeysk, Volchansk Amid Ongoing Offensive
Putin briefed on battlefield advances in Donetsk, Kharkov, Zaporizhzhia and Dnepropetrovsk regions
Russian, Dec 02 : President Vladimir Putin has been informed that Russian forces have seized control of Krasnoarmeysk in the Donetsk region and Volchansk in the Kharkov region, the Kremlin announced in a statement on Monday.
According to the briefing, Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov, Commander of the Centre Force Valery Solodchuk, and Commander of the East Force Andrei Ivanayev updated Putin on the latest battlefield developments across multiple fronts.
Commanders Report Key Gains Across Frontlines
Gerasimov confirmed the capture of Krasnoarmeysk and Volchansk, also presenting details of Russian offensive operations in several other areas.
Solodchuk reported progress in eliminating Ukrainian units encircled around the Krasnoarmeysk–Dimitrov agglomeration, noting that the southern part of Dimitrov was now under full Russian control.
Ivanayev briefed the president on operations in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnepropetrovsk regions, announcing that Russian forces had advanced to the Gaichur river. Units of the 5th Combined Arms Army have begun an operation aimed at capturing Gulyaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Putin Praises Advances, Calls for Winter Preparedness
Putin thanked the commanders and personnel involved in the offensives, commending their “efficiency” and directing officers to ensure troops receive all necessary supplies as fighting continues into the winter months.
Russian Flag Raised in Krasnoarmeysk
Later on Monday night, the Russian Ministry of Defence released video footage showing Russian servicemen raising the national flag in the main square of Krasnoarmeysk, symbolising the city’s capture.
