Saif Ali Khan Opens Up About Being Stabbed While Protecting His Children
Actor opens up about the harrowing incident at home and the values he wants to instill in his kids.
Mumbai : Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan recently shared a chilling account of the night he was stabbed while protecting his children at home. The incident, which took place earlier this year, unfolded when an intruder entered the family apartment, reportedly through four-year-old Jeh’s bedroom.
Upon noticing the threat, Saif rushed to confront the intruder as the man reached for his son. During the struggle, Saif was stabbed in the back, an injury serious enough that doctors later said he narrowly avoided paralysis. His wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their elder son, Taimur, were also at home, witnessing the terrifying events.
In a candid conversation with Esquire India, Saif described the moment he lay on the floor, bleeding, and how his life flashed before his eyes. “There’s this crazy sense of how lucky one is because [the knife attack] was damn close. And to walk away relatively unscathed is nothing short of miraculous,” he said.
Remarkably, a fragment of the weapon remained lodged in his back after the intruder fled. Saif immediately took an auto rickshaw to the hospital, where emergency surgery was performed.
Reflecting on the ordeal, the actor emphasized the importance of teaching his children values like calmness, patience, discipline, and balance. Saif’s harrowing experience serves as a stark reminder of a parent’s instinct to protect their children at all costs.
