Sainik Samaj Party Pushes for Job Protection, Scrapping Agneepath, and 24/7 Power in Bold 20-Point Manifesto
Jammu, 27-09-2024: The Sainik Samaj Party (JKUT) held a press conference to present its ideology and key points of its manifesto to the media. Col. SS Pathania, the party’s Chief Convenor and President, stated that the party is driven by a strong sense of nationalism and aims to serve the Union Territory and its people through a political platform. He highlighted the party’s vision to promote educated, capable, dynamic, and uncorrupt individuals, particularly the youth, ensuring the nation’s growth and the welfare of its citizens.
The party unveiled a 20-point manifesto, with key proposals including the demand for a separate state for the Jammu region, job protection for local youth, establishment of a land bank, and preservation of art and culture. The manifesto also called for 33% reservation for women at all levels, the appointment of a retired Army General as Lt. Governor with two advisors, and the scrapping of the Agneepath Scheme. It further emphasized parity for veterans with neighboring states regarding government job reservations and incentives for gallantry award winners.
Other key points included a no-freebies policy from taxpayers’ money, limiting Jammu region to only one toll plaza similar to Kashmir, making daily wagers and ad hoc workers permanent, ensuring 24/7 power availability, launching an HD Dogra channel at the earliest, and evicting encroachment on government land.
Party candidates Sanjeev Luthra and Sumit Sharma, contesting from Jammu East and Jammu West, respectively, also shared their vision with the media. Prominent office bearers attending the conference included Brigadier Virender Slathia, Rajiv Luthra, Varun Jamwal, Sunil Datt, and others.
