Sale of meat should be banned during Navratri: Shiv Sena

Jammu: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit has demanded a complete ban on the sale of meat in shops and keeping them closed during the biggest religious festival of Hindus, the Holy Navratri, from September 22.
A team of party leaders led by state chief Manish Sahni met the Jammu District Magistrate and submitted a memorandum regarding their above demands.
Sahni said in a special conversation with media persons that the Holy Navratri is starting on 22 September 2025; it is the biggest religious festival of Hindus. During this, fasts are observed, and and pure vegetarian food is consumed. Sahni said that religious sentiments will be hurt by the opening and sale of meat shops during these holy days. Therefore, we urge the administration and meat sellers not to open meat shops; otherwise, any untoward incident can happen and due to this a situation of communal tension can arise.
Appeal to the administration to pass an order to keep all meat shops closed from 22nd September till Shri Ram Navami.
