District admin Samba acts tough against unscrupulous mining activities
SAMBA, APRIL 01: District Administration Samba acting tough against the unscrupulous activities of the mining sector in district samba today seized and challened multiple dumpers, visits Form-A collection centre and issues orders against norms flouting.
Deputy Commissioner, Samba Anuradha Gupta, following the complaints against mining contractors today visited the challan (Form-A) receipt centre at Nud along with the Senior Superintendent of Police and directed the concerned agency to immediately start the challan receipt counter which was non-functional from the last 24 hrs. Deputy Commissioner Samba on spot issued orders that the receipt counter issuing Form-A to locals will work on the scheduled timings i.e 6 am to 6 pm only and any one’s free will in this matter not be allowed.
DC passed directions to ensure no overcharging or unscrupulous activities are carried out in district samba. Earlier, DC samba constituted a team of revenue officer, Police personnel to increase the vigil against illegal mining activities. It was informed that 57 dumpers have been seized with 8,36,000 amount challaned in this month alone.
Deputy Commissioner ordered that the mining dept will display all the government approved rates on hoardings near collection centres for smooth conduct of mining activity. She further warned that any illegitimate mining activity in district samba will not go unnoticed and action as warrant shall also be taken including the recommendation of cancellation of the mining contract.
