Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Rao Bhagwat’s Pivotal Three-Day Visit to Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu, 13-10-2023: Dr. Mohan Rao Bhagwat, the distinguished Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), embarked on a significant three-day sojourn to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, heralding a momentous occasion for the region. His arrival was met with enthusiasm and a warm reception by local RSS leaders, led by Prant Prachark, Rupesh Kumar, as they welcomed him at the Jammu Airport. Dr. Bhagwat’s schedule was nothing short of hectic, encompassing a spectrum of engagements that would resonate through the RSS and its offshoot organizations.

Upon touching down at Jammu Airport, Dr. Bhagwat promptly made his way to Keshav Bhawan in Ambphalla, where he would be headquartered for the duration of his visit. During his stay in Jammu, he would engage in extensive discussions with the top echelons of RSS leadership within the Union Territory, fostering a dialogue on a myriad of critical issues. Central to these discussions was the expansion of RSS activities in Jammu and Kashmir, a topic that would be explored in great detail during his stay.

Saturday morning was marked by a pivotal address to RSS workers in Jammu, offering him an opportunity to gain firsthand insights into the forthcoming centenary celebrations of RSS, slated for the year 2025. It was expected that prominent figures, including Swayamsevaks representing various offshoot organizations of RSS, J&K BJP leaders like Union Minister in PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, BJP President Ravinder Raina, and party General Secretary (Org) Ashok Koul would participate.

The morning of the following day would witness a coordination meeting with Swayamsevaks from Kishtwar, Rajouri, Udhampur, Reasi, Poonch, and Jammu Mahanagar. These discussions would delve into the prevailing conditions in J&K and Ladakh UTs, providing a comprehensive assessment of the situation.

Sunday saw Dr. Bhagwat addressing a gathering of various organizations within the Sangh Parivar, a forum where he would receive valuable feedback on the diverse projects initiated by RSS in the Union Territory. These projects spanned a wide spectrum, encompassing village development, public awareness, health, ecology, water conservation, social equality, and education, to name a few. Furthermore, he would closely scrutinize the functioning of offshoot organizations such as VHP, Bajrang Dal, Sewa Bharti, Samaskar Bharti, Vidya Bharti, and Shiksha Bharti. Notably, the representatives of these organizations would have the opportunity for individual interactions with Dr. Bhagwat during the morning of October 15.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Sarsanghchalak would take center stage, addressing a gathering of Swayamsevaks in their distinctive attire at the Kathua Stadium. Attendees were anticipated from Kathua, Samba, Basholi, Billawar, and RSS senior functionaries from the UT. Dr. Jitendra Singh, who represented the Kathua-Doda Parliamentary constituency, was expected to accompany the RSS chief on his visit to Kathua.

Dr. Bhagwat would pay his respects at the statue of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee in Kathua before unveiling the statue of Bharat Mata at Jakhbar village, engaging in meaningful interactions with the local villagers. Finally, his sojourn would conclude with a departure for the Union Capital, marking the end of an eventful visit.

The RSS, in a statement, highlighted the traditional practice of Sarsanghchalak and Sarkaryavah traversing the provinces of the country as an integral part of the organizational work and interaction with eminent individuals. Dr. Bhagwat’s visit to Jammu held particular significance, given his prior visit in 2021 after assuming the leadership of Sangh in 2009.

This visit by Dr. Bhagwat was met with fervor and excitement from the RSS and its affiliated organizations, underlining the importance of his presence in the region.
