SC, depressed classes deprived under BJP’s proxy Govt in J&K: Rattan Lal Gupta

NC will initiate Sher-e-Kashmir Awas Yojana for poor & needy people if voted to power.

JAMMU, AUG 20: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) has pooh-poohed the NDA Govt at the Centre for depriving the members of the Scheduled Caste (SC) and other underprivileged classes of even their basic rights, not to talk of other rights.

The senior National Conference leader stated this while addressing a day-long convention of National Conference Scheduled Caste Cell held under the chairmanship of Vijay Lochan, Chairman of the Cell here at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu.

Rattan Lal Gupta, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, asserted that the underprivileged communities are being totally ignored and deprived under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) proxy Govt in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The senior NC leader, while reiterating that National Conference stands fully committed to the welfare of the underprivileged classes including Schedule Caste community, said that after being voted to power in J&K during the Assembly elections NC Govt will do away with the discrimination met to the aforesaid people by the incumbent dispensation in terms of deprivation of their fundamental rights and social justice. He said that rights of these communities were always protected under the previous NC regimes. He asserted that it was National Conference that brought and implemented the law providing for land to the tillers as a result of which 80 percent SCs and deprived classes people were the beneficiaries. Even under the social justice reforms 80 per cent beneficiaries were SCs and depressed classes people, he added.

Rattan Lal Gupta said that the power was also shared with them by nominating the members of SC community into the power of corridors by the NC regime besides bringing them out of poverty. He said, today NC assures that if party comes to power it will restore their fundamental rights and other priviliges by giving them social justice.

The Provincial President informed that the National Conference will launch Sher-e-Kashmir Awas Yojana for the welfare of poor people falling under BPL category of PRC  in urban areas, if the Party voted to power in the upcoming ULB elections. Besides this, he promised that the Party will provide 24×7 power and regular water supply in the urban areas and opening of health centres in all the wards of urban areas.

Meanwhile, countering the statement of LG giving job opportunities to youth, he said 50000 posts have not been filled till date which were promised by BJP led govt  amid recruitment scams galore in J&K. He said that Govt is betraying the youth of J&K which is evident from the fact that no employment has been provided to border youth as promised.

Vijay Lochan in his address said that National Conference has always been the messiah of the underprivileged especially the SC community people. He exuded confidence that all SC people will vote en mass for the NC candidates in the upcoming Panchayat and ULB polls and thereafter in the Assembly polls whenever these are held.

Sheikh Ahmed Bashir, Provincial Secretary while asserting that National Conference alone is capable of providing social justice to the SCs and other
