SC verdict on Art 370 poised to herald Justice, welfare of people: Kavinder

Jammu, December 8: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today expressed confidence that the upcoming Supreme Court verdict on Article 370 will pave the way for a brighter future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement issued here today, the senior BJP leader said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered for far too long under the shadow of Article 370. “This discriminatory provision had unjustly deprived several communities, including Gorkhas, Safaikaramcharis, and refugees, of their fundamental rights for over seven decades and stifled the region’s development” he added.

“Whatever decision the Supreme Court makes, it will be made with the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir at heart,” he stated.

Kavinder highlighted the positive impact that the abrogation of Article 370 has already had on the region. “Since the abrogation, we have seen significant progress in areas such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure development,” he said.

The former Deputy Chief Minister expressed optimism that the Supreme Court verdict would uphold the government’s decision and pave the way for further development and progress in the region.

“I believe that the Supreme Court will recognize the positive impact of removing Article 370 and allow the people of Jammu and Kashmir to enjoy the same rights and opportunities as their fellow citizens in the rest of the country,” he concluded.
