Security Forces Capture TRF Affiliate in Baramulla District, Recover Hand Grenades and Cash
Srinagar, 11-10-2023 : In a significant security operation, a militant associate affiliated with “The Resistance Front” (TRF), a shadow group linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, was apprehended in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. This arrest followed a joint operation conducted by multiple security forces on October 10.
Acting on specific intelligence regarding militant movement in the Ushkara area, a collaborative checkpoint was established by the Baramulla Police, the Indian Army’s 46 Rashtriya Rifles, Military Intelligence (MI), and the 53rd Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
During the checkpoint inspection, the security forces noticed the suspicious movement of an individual approaching the checkpoint on foot. Upon realizing the presence of the police and security personnel, the individual attempted to evade capture but was apprehended by the alert checkpoint team through strategic tactics.
The arrested individual has been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Ushkara in Baramulla. During a search of his person, security forces discovered two hand grenades and a sum of Rs. 40,000 in cash.
In response to this incident, a case has been registered under sections related to unlawful activities and the Arms Act at the Baramulla Police Station. An investigation into the matter has been initiated to further assess the circumstances and implications of the arrest.
