Senior IAS Officer Dr Pawan Kotwal Appointed Advisor to Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh

 LEH, June 2: In a recent development, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has made an important appointment in the administrative landscape of Ladakh. Dr Pawan Kotwal, a seasoned senior IAS officer from the 1994 batch, has been appointed as the new Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. This decision comes as the incumbent Advisor, Umang Narula, has been transferred to New Delhi.

Dr Pawan Kotwal brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise, having served in various capacities throughout his distinguished career. With his vast knowledge and deep understanding of administrative affairs, he is expected to provide valuable guidance and support to the Lieutenant Governor in his governance responsibilities in Ladakh.

It is worth noting that Umang Narula, the outgoing Advisor, is an accomplished IAS officer from the 1989 batch. He has been an integral part of the administrative machinery in the region and has contributed significantly to the development and progress of Ladakh. His shift to New Delhi indicates a potential change in his role within the government.

Both Dr Pawan Kotwal and Umang Narula belong to the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir cadre, which has now been reorganized into the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories) cadre. This reorganization aims to strengthen administrative efficiency and ensure better governance in the region.
