Several J&K Congress leaders, workers hold protest against BJP, indulging in political vendetta
Jammu, June 17: A strong protest was held outside Press Club Jammu led by PCC Vice President Shri Mular Ram in which senior leaders including Chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, T.S. Bajwa (ex-MP), Th. Balwan Singh(ex-MLA), Ved Mahajan (Ex-MLC), Hari Singh Chib ( DCC President Jammu-R), Pawan Raina, Shashi Sharma, Dr. Karan Bhagat, Ricky Dalotra, Ritu Chaudhary H S Mehta, Sanjeev Panda, Rajvir Singh, Dr. R.K. Khajuria, Satish Sharma, Sonu Dogra, Michael Wazir, Chander Shekhar, Atul Sharma, Satpal Spolia, Vijay Shastri, Ajaib Motton. Hoshiar Singh Chib, Balbir Singh, Pawandev Singh, Baldev Singh Wazir, Uttam Singh Chib, Sunil Dutt, Vijay Tagotra, Shamsher Bhagat, Rocky Sharma, Gurmeet Singh, Ram Mangotra, Pardeep Bhalla, Jatinder Chib, and several others, participated.
The protestors raised slogans against BJP accusing the Modi government of indulging in political vendetta against the Congress party and Gandhi’s family. They blamed the Modi government of misusing central agencies like ED, and CBI to take on the opposition leaders especially the Congress party to gag the voice of the opposition.
He said Congress shall not be cowed down by such tactics and would fight back against the repressive policies of the Modi-led BJP government and safeguard democracy.
A heavy contingent of police stopped the protest from proceeding toward Raj Bhawan and protestors were taken into preventive custody and taken to district police lines.
Briefing the media persons at the site of protest, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Mr. Ravinder Sharma said that the Modi Govt. wants to suppress the voice of opposition, especially Congress leadership, as the BJP cannot answer the tough questions of public importance and the failure of the Govt on various fronts.
It is Rahul Gandhi and Congress leadership which have always raised issues of youth, farmers, uncontrolled prices, large-scale unemployment, and the recent Agnipath Scheme against youth. Congress is the strong opposition party now, so Modi Govt. is using central agencies and police against the opposition leaders. He said that congress Satya Greh shall continue against such vindictive policies of BJP Govt. and its wrong policies and failure on all fronts.
