Sh. Arun Gupta’s Tribute to Sh. Chandan Kohli, IPS for Remarkable Contributions as SSP Jammu

Jammu, 25-10-2023 : The Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized an interactive meeting with the Police Department at Chamber House today wherein Sh. Vinod Kumar, IPS SSP Jammu, Sh. Chandan Kohli, IPS Dy. Secretary in Cabinet Secretariat, New Delhi, and Sh. Faisal Qureshi, JKPS SSP Traffic were present.

At the outset Sh. Arun Gupta welcomed the dignitaries present in the interactive session and also recalled the services/cooperation of the Police Department especially  during the Covid period and Post Covid period as well as after the abrogation of Article 370. He said that due to positive role of the Police Department no untoward incident has taken place and the Police Department has eliminated/captured a number of militants and overground workers of different militant outfits, A huge quantity of arms and ammunition has been recovered during various operations.

Sh. Arun Gupta also said that during past sometime the relations between the general public and the Police Department have remained cordial and cooperative with each other and we hope that this type of relations shall continue in future also.

Thereafter Sh. Arun Gupta also recalled the services rendered by Sh. Chandan Kohli, IPS as SSP Jammu said that during his tenure the crime graph of Jammu went considerably come down and the people of Jammu will remember him for his politeness and determined approach in solving the problems and we wish him all the success and good luck on taking over the new assignment.

Sh. Arun Gupta also welcomed Sh. Vinod Kumar, IPS on assuming the charge of SSP Jammu and said we are hopeful that the relations between the Public and the Police Department shall be strengthened more during his tenure as SSP Jammu.

Sh. Arun Gupta President CCI also praised the traffic police department for their cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the business community and requested  not to penalize the innocent Jammuites instead only major violators should be booked/penalized.

While speaking on the occasion Sh. Chandan Kohli, IPS thanked the people of Jammu especially Chamber of Commerce & Industry for their wholehearted support and cooperation during his tenure as SSP Jammu.  He also said that there can be differences in our actions but ultimately we have work jointly for the betterment of the society and I have tried my best to provide better and hassle free services to the people of Jammu.

While speaking on the occasion Sh. Faisal Qureshi, JKPS SSP Traffic assured the Chamber members that he will definitely look into the suggestions made by the Chamber members in today’s meeting.

Sh. Vinod Kumar, IPS SSP Jammu also assured the Chamber members that he will try his best to continue the Police and public relations in a better way.
