Shinde Backs Nilesh Rane: ‘Shiv Sena Fully Behind Him in Sting Operation Case’
Deputy CM says Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) stands firmly behind Rane as FIR filed in Sindhudurg sting case
Malvan (Sindhudurg), Dec 1: Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday declared unequivocal support for MLA Nilesh Rane, asserting that the Shiv Sena (Shinde group) stands strongly behind him in the ongoing sting operation case.
Speaking at a rally in Malvan, Shinde praised Rane for his “aggressive and committed work” in the district and urged him not to fear while pursuing development initiatives. “Nilesh Rane is not alone. Senior leaders including Uday Samant and Deepak Kesarkar met him soon after the sting incident to extend full support,” Shinde said.
The Deputy CM also highlighted key development projects initiated during his tenure as Chief Minister, including the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme. Despite hurdles, he said, the scheme was successfully implemented and “will continue without interruption.”
Shinde’s defence of Rane comes two days after Sindhudurg Police registered an FIR against the Shiv Sena MLA on charges of trespassing into the house of a BJP supporter. The complaint, filed by BJP worker Vijay Kenavadekar, followed Rane’s allegation that bags of cash meant for distribution to voters were found during his “sting operation.”
The incident has further fuelled tensions in Sindhudurg, where Nilesh Rane and his brother, BJP minister Nitesh Rane, are engaged in a fierce battle ahead of local body elections.
