Shiv Sena protest, demand for restoration of statehood; warn of massive mass movement

Muslim-dominated J&K stepmotherly state? ,  Questions raised on the Centre's intentions.

Jammu,14-12-2024:  The winter session tenure so far has been marred by internal (Soros vs Adani) deadlock without any meaningful discussion on public interest issues, about 150 crores of public tax have been wasted, ‘One Country One Election’ gets cabinet approval, and the Disaster Management (Amendment) Act is passed, but no interest is shown in fulfilling the promises of restoring the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir, stated by Manish Sahni, President, Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit.
Led by party state chief Manish Sahni, staged a strong protest at the Hari Singh statue site in Jammu today. while holding placards, “Stop step-motherly treatment to Jammu and Kashmir” and “PM fulfill your promise – restore statehood”, expressed their protest by tying black bands on their heads, and a strong demonstration was held.
Sahni raised questions on the intention of the Central Government regarding the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and said that for the last five and a half years, people have been given false promises of restoration of statehood. During the meeting of state Chief Minister Omar Abdullah with Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 23 and 24 October, they agreed to restore statehood in the winter session and this year itself.
‘One Country One Election’ gets the approval of the Modi Cabinet, Disaster Management (Amendment) Act is passed, and and discussion on the Constitution is going on. However, no efforts are being made inside or outside the House to restore the state status of Jammu and Kashmir under its constitutional rights.
Sahni said that due to the BJP’s indifferent attitude towards Jammu and Kashmir, it seems that the public is suffering the consequences of being a Muslim-majority state.
Sahni warned of a massive mass movement for the restoration of statehood. On this occasion Sunny Kant Chib (Chairman Human Rights Council J&K),  Vikas Bakshi, Jai Bharti, Balwant Singh, Raj Singh, Rajesh Jandial, Geeta Lakhotra, Rohan Malwal, Dimple, Rajjat, Swarn Veer Singh, Zakir Hussain, Khalid, Vijay Kumar and many others were present.
