Shiv Sena threatens state wide agitation;Sahni demands 300 units free electricity, waiver of outstanding bills

Dozens local youths join Shiv Sena

UDHAMPUR,20-08-2023 : Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena (UBT), Jammu and Kashmir, has demanded free electricity up to 300 units and waiver in all pending electricity bills for the welfare of poor and general public.
Addressing a program in Udhampur district of Jammu region, Sahni said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are suffering due to the failure of the elected government. Their voices are not being heard, and the administration is indulging in arbitrariness.
He emphasized that he is not against development and technology, but for the past 35 years, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have borne the brunt of terrorism and the abrogation of Article 370, which took away the state’s special status. The ongoing economic slowdown, high inflation rates, and rising unemployment have burdened the people even further, he added.
Despite being among the top electricity-producing states in the country, Jammu and Kashmir are witnessing a consistent increase in electricity rates. In the past four years, the people have suffered as millions of rupees have been wasted in changing electric meters three times, causing inconvenience and now there are plans to forcefully introduce prepaid-smart meters, which will further burden the common man economically.
Sahni highlighted that while the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir claims to provide relief to the poor and general public, there is no evidence of such relief on the ground. He emphasized that the poor and general public of Jammu and Kashmir should be provided with free electricity up to 300 units and their outstanding bills should be waived off.
Sahni urged all political and social organizations to unite and join the people on the streets to prevent essential services like electricity from falling into private hands and protect the people from economic exploitation.
On this occasion dozens local youths from ward 7 and 11 joined Shivsena.
Sahni announced Muzamil Khan as the president of Ward 11 and Mohan Lal as the president of Ward 7.
Among those who were present include Gen Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Vice President Sanjeev Kohli, Jatinder Arora, President Kamghar wing Raj Singh Shashi Pal , president Udhampur Sanjeev Kohli , Charman Joginder Verma , Golpal Dogra , Anil Vijay , Rajesh Khajuria, Rajesh Verma , Viashla , Ronesh , Sahil  Gandotra, Pawan Gupta.
