People of Jammu paying the price for supporting nai Jammu-Kashmir: - Sahni

JAMMU,05-08-2023 : On the fourth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sanik Samaj Party unit of Jammu and Kashmir unit staged jointly protest against the centre  government, accusing it of breaching trust and making serious allegations of betrayal.
Dozens of shiv Saniks and leaders of Sanik Sama Party headed by Manish Sahni and Col SS Pathania held a silent darna protest while holding tricolour and placards written “When will the Kashmiri Pandits be rehabilitated?”  , “When will our cultural identity be protected?”  ,
“When a full stop to terrorism and targeted killings?”  , “When to restore statehood, democratic process?”  Etc. at Maharaj Hari Singh park, here today.
Addressing the gathering Manish Sahni, State President Shiv Sena J&K said that when the Modi government abrogated Article 370 on August 5, 2019, it promised that it would bring peace, economic progress, development, and employment opportunities to Jammu and Kashmir.
Sahni stated that the people of Jammu region had not anticipated that supporting one Constitution and one flag would prove so costly for them. After four years, the situation in the region has deteriorated to the extent that youth are desperate for jobs, and unemployment has reached its peak. Hundreds of thousands of young lives have been lost to drug addiction, and the youth of the region are standing on the edge of death due to the menace of Pakistan-sponsored narco-terrorism, he added.
During the period of the Corona pandemic and the nationwide lockdown, in just three years from 2019 to 2021, more than ten thousand girls and children went missing, a government figure that is alarming. The graph of crime in the region is escalating day by day, he added.
“The safe return of Kashmiri Pandits to the valley remains unattainable, and the burden of electricity and water bills is being imposed on the people. The absence of elected representatives has left the administration and bureaucracy indifferent and authoritarian towards public issues,” he added.
Sahni said the new Jammu and Kashmir, with 90 assembly seats, is being run by a Lieutenant Governor and his sole advisor. The promise made by the central government on the floor of the Parliament to restore the statehood to Jammu and Kashmir is yet to be fulfilled, he said, adding that today the people of Jammu division are feeling cheated and helpless due to the anti-people policies and decisions of the Central Government and the Jammu and Kashmir administration. On this occasion Chairman Rakesh Gupta, Vice President Sanjeev Kohli, President Kamgar Wing Raj Singh, Shashipal, Mangu Ram, Munish Rajput, Ayushman Singh, Sunil Dutt, Teetu Sehgal, Munish Kumar, Neeraj Mehra, Rakesh Kumar, Shivam Kumar, Bhirchand and many others were present.
