Shivani Charak of J&K Heads to Bengaluru for Indian Speed Climbing Team Trials for Asian Indoor Games

Warm Send-Off for J&K’s Shivani Charak as She Heads for Indian Speed Climbing Team Trials in Bengaluru

Jammu, 16-08-2024: Shivani Charak of J&K, one of the top speed climbers of the country has been invited by Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi, the apex body for mountaineering and sport climbing in India, for trials to select the Indian Speed Climbing team for participation in the 6th Asian Indoor Games to be held at Bangkok, Thailand from 21st to 30th November, 20248.

Shivani is among the top ten speed climbers  of the country who have been shortlisted for the trials to be conducted by Indian Mountaineering Foundation at Yuvanika Climbing Wall in Bengaluru on 20th August, 2024. The other climbers are Anisha Verma from East Zone, Shivpreet Pannu and Ritika Rawat from North Zone, Saniya Farooqee Shaikh, Shreya Nankar and Nirmayee Rakesh Neve from West Zone and Jayati Gadamshetty, Dhanashri Lekurwale and Sonali Pereira from South Zone.

  Meanwhile, before her departure for Bengaluru today Shivani  was given a warm send off at Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab, Jammu. Besides the General Secretary of Mountaineering Association of J&K Shawetica Khajuria, the Chairman & Director of Sprawling Buds ICSE School Rahul Sharma and Seema Sharma; Principal of Apple Kids International Pre School Arti Sharma who is also Sr. Vice President of Tawi Trekkers J&K were among the prominent persons present on the occasion. All of them extended best wishes to Shivani for  selection in the Indian team.
