Shivsena extends support to organization holding hunger strike against smart meters
Government should give free electricity , waived old bills - Sahni
Jammu,04-08-2023. Shiv Sena (UBT) unit today join and supported the hunger strike and darna by local residents at Khulian of RS Pura of Jammu against the decision to install smart-prepaid meters in Jammu.
Under the leadership of party state chief Manish Sahni, a group of leaders joined the protest and raised their voice against installation of smart meters and demanded free electricity and waiver of old bills.
Sahni gave a call to on the streets in solidarity.
Sahni said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are being continuously exploited financially. For the last 9 years, people are waiting for good days, new taxes are being imposed daily. Earlier people took to the streets over property tax and now smart prepaid meters have been installed, the plan to cut the pockets of people struggling with inflation and unemployment is being executed.
Sahni has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to withdraw the decision to install smart prepaid meters and to waive old bills and to provide free electricity and water to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. On this occasion Narendra Sharma, Mohammad Arif, Kamla Devi Panch Thikaria and many others were present.
