JAMMU, June 8: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Wednesday asserted that the single window system can be a one stop solution for growing unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued to media persons, the BJP stalwart leader urged the government of Jammu and Kashmir to adopt a single window system for addressing growing unemployment in the Union Territory. He said that the conventional methods of combating joblessness have not proved to be much fruitful therefore a changed strategy by adopting the single window system can be the one-stop solution for the gigantic problem of unemployment which not only is bothering the people in J&K but has become a universal quandary in all parts of the country.
Kavinder suggested the government come up with comprehensive campaigns to educate the population on how benefits from various schemes launched for tackling unemployment can be availed. He said that there are a number of schemes including Make in India, start up, etc which can prove effective in eliminating unemployment and bringing prosperity in the region.
The former Deputy Chief Minister also batted for educating the youth under Skill India Programme to make them become job providers rather than job seekers.
Kavinder said that under present set-up, the investors have to visit multiple platforms to gather information and obtain clearances from different stakeholders. To address this, he said, the creation of a centralised clearance cell which would provide end-to-end facilitation support, including pre-investment advisory, information related to banks and facilitating clearances can be of great help. “Of course, a Single Window System for clearances and approvals of projects can prove to be a game changer”, he added.
