Jammu Police and SMGS Hospital Tighten Security Measures After Delhi Blast

Jammu, Nov 18: In the wake of the recent Delhi blast, Jammu Police, in coordination with Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital authorities, have intensified inspections of unidentified and unclaimed staff and doctor lockers across the hospital premises.

Dr. Dara Singh, Medical Superintendent of SMGS Hospital, said the locker verification exercise was already ongoing but has now been stepped up as a precautionary measure. “We were already conducting this exercise, but it has been intensified after the Delhi blast. Today, we opened the lock of an almirah in the presence of security officials. A four-member committee has been constituted to supervise and carry out these checks,” he added.

Officials stated that the drive aims to ensure no suspicious or unidentified items are stored within the hospital. Security measures are expected to continue in the coming days to maintain a safe environment for staff and patients.
