Sonia Gandhi accuses BJP of looting people, misusing constitutional institutions

Sonia Gandhi urges people to vote for Congress candidates to save Karnataka from BJP's looting

06-05-2023 : Former AICC President Sonia Gandhi has compared the current term of the BJP government to the times of darkness, citing the revival of Indira Gandhi from the soil of Karnataka by taking on the anti-people policies of the central government. She believes that it is the duty of the people to raise their voice against such a regime. Speaking at a campaign event for turncoat Jagdish Shettar, who is contesting from the Hubballi-Dharwad Central constituency, Sonia reminded the people of Karnataka that the state has a special place in Congress history, and it is a matter of pride that Mallikarjuna Kharge is the President of the Congress Party today.

Sonia alleged that the present BJP government is making money instead of protecting people and is afraid of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, which was organized to fight against those who spread hatred in society. She further accused the BJP of controlling constitutional institutions by misusing them and not answering any questions or replying to any letters. According to Sonia, the BJP leaders are so arrogant that they are making ill-intended strategies and looting people, and they should be held accountable for their actions.

Sonia urged the people of Karnataka to vote for Congress in the upcoming elections to free the state from the hateful politics of the BJP, saying that without doing so, Karnataka and the country cannot develop. She also accused the BJP of insulting the principles of Lord Basavanna and Kannada poet Kuvempu on a daily basis and dividing the state and the country for their political interests.

Sonia asked the people to decide whether they will side with those who attack the fundamentals of the saints or those who fight for the welfare of all classes. She promised that after coming to power, the Congress government in Karnataka will implement five guarantee schemes, including Grihalakshmi, Yuvavanidhi, Annabhagya, Griha Jyoti, and free travel schemes, to keep people’s trust. She emphasized that the people of Karnataka should give their valuable votes to each Congress candidate on May 10 to save the state from looting by the BJP and make people’s future bright.
