Three advanced ambulances to enhance emergency care in Sopore health facilities
Srinagar, Feb 10: The Baramulla district administration on Tuesday approved the purchase of three advanced life-support ambulances for health centres in Sopore assembly constituency, officials said.
The District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, sanctioned the acquisition of three Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus ambulances at a total cost of Rs 46.77 lakh. The vehicles will be funded through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) of MLA Irshad Rasool Kar.
The ambulances are set to be deployed at the Sub District Hospital in Sopore and the New Type Primary Health Centres in Tarzoo and Duroo. The Chief Medical Officer of Baramulla has been appointed as the executing agency, with procurement to follow the General Financial Rules, 2017. The order also specifies that the funds be used solely for this purpose and that a physical verification of the vehicles is required before payment release.
MLA Irshad Rasool Kar said the initiative is aimed at strengthening emergency medical services in the region. “With this procurement, six ambulances will be added this year. If needed, an equal number will be added next financial year. Improving healthcare infrastructure remains a top priority,” he added.
