Security forces assist in raids across Bomai, Warpora, Sopore and Tarzoo amid probe into alleged JeI-linked activities
Srinagar, May 16: Police in Sopore, along with security forces, on Friday carried out coordinated searches at more than 15 locations in the Baramulla district as part of an ongoing investigation under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Official sources said the operation covered several areas, including Bomai, Warpora, Sopore and Tarzoo in north Kashmir. The searches are linked to a case involving suspected associates of the banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI).
Teams conducted simultaneous raids at multiple premises to gather evidence and examine alleged connections related to unlawful activities. Authorities said the operation was aimed at tracing networks believed to be active in the region.
During the searches, investigators reportedly seized documents, electronic gadgets and other materials for examination. Officials said the collected evidence is being analysed as part of the continuing probe.
Police said the investigation is progressing and further action will be taken based on the findings of the searches.
