Sunny Deol Shares Heartbreaking Deleted Scene from ‘Border’ Ahead of Sequel

Actor shares the emotional bunker sequence that never made it to the final cut, saying it still moves him to tears

Mumbai, Jan 22 : As ‘Border 2’ gears up for its grand Republic Day week release, anticipation is high among fans eager to see the sequel to the iconic 1997 blockbuster. Amid the excitement, nostalgia for the original film has resurfaced, with Sunny Deol, who portrayed Major Kuldip Singh, sharing insights about one of the most emotional scenes that was cut from the final version.

Sunny Deol described a deleted scene that still haunts him, saying, “For me they are dead, and I am telling them ki tum log jis duniya me ho, wo Jannat hai, wahaan kahi ladai nahi hoti… Wo mai padta tha, jaise abhi rona aa raha hai, waise rona aa jaata tha. Itna pyaara scene tha wo.”

The Emotional Bunker Sequence

The actor recalled approaching a bunker near a small temple for the scene. He imagined his fallen soldiers gathered around a fire and delivered a heartfelt monologue: “Mai unse baat karta hoon ki tu fikar na kar, mai tere ghar aake teri chhat laga di, mai jaake teri maa nu mil leta hai.”

Sunny Deol said the sequence remains one of the most beautiful written for the film, capturing the emotional depth and patriotic fervour that made ‘Border’ a landmark in Indian cinema.

Fans now eagerly await how ‘Border 2’ will carry forward the legacy of its predecessor, both in terms of heroism and heartfelt storytelling.
