Supreme Court Represents Sole Hope for Article 370 Revocation: Ghulam Nabi Azad

21-08-2023 : Ghulam Nabi Azad, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), asserted on Monday that the final glimmer of hope for the revocation of Article 370 rests with the Supreme Court.

In a media interaction held in Srinagar, Azad underscored that the authority to revoke Article 370 lies solely with either the current governing body or the Supreme Court. He expressed skepticism regarding any expectations from the present administration, considering that they were the ones who abrogated the article in the first place.

Azad elaborated on the matter, emphasizing that the Supreme Court stands as the last beacon of hope for the potential revocation of Article 370. He recounted his recent visit to Delhi, during which he engaged with Congress leader and esteemed lawyer Kapil Sibal. Sibal, Azad noted, adeptly presented the case representing the interests of a significant population of 1.50 crore people in the Supreme Court.

Concluding on a hopeful note, Azad remarked that collective prayers and optimism are essential as the nation awaits a verdict that could potentially redefine the status of Article 370.
