Surjeet Kumar of GDC Dudu Basantgarh got 1st  position in Inter College poster making competition on  depletion of ozone layer

16-09-2021: Government Degree College Dudu BasantGarh  Organized an Online Inter-College poster-making competition on Ozone layer depletion to commemorate World Ozone day under Shikshit Bharat. In this competition students from different colleges of Jammu, Kashmir UT participated.  Students make different posters and gave the message to the society about the depletion of the ozone layer and suggested ways and means through posters to protect it by controlling different kinds of pollutions on earth.

The Competition took place under the supervision and guidance of Worthy Principal GDC Dudu Basantgarh Dr. Bhavnaish Chand. On this occasion Principal of the college said that the Ozone layer protects us from harmful UV radiation but due to human activities the ozone layer is getting depleted which could be very disastrous. The depletion of the ozone layer may cause severe health hazards, leading to global warming and hence resulting in climate changes. He gave a message to the students to plant more and more trees on abandoned land around their surroundings to increase the forest cover of our planet.

Plantation of trees, use of environmental-friendly fertilizers, and products free of chlorofluorocarbons can minimize the depletion of the Ozone layer.

Surjeet Kumar of sem. IInd of GDC Dudu Basantgarh got 1st  position while Palma Devi of B.A sem. IInd and Shabnam bano of Sem. IVth of the host college shared 2nd position and Kumari Karuna of B.Sc Sem-IInd of GGM Science college Jammu clinched 3rd position. Organizing secretary Prof. Pradeep Kumar and competition coordinator Prof. Rahul Sharma host the event to promote online activities in this covid-19 pandemic situation. E-certificate were given to all the winners.

The principal of the College congratulated the winners of the competition.
