Tanvir Sadiq releases ₹300 Lakh for Development works in Zadibal constituency

Says Era of Development Has Begun

Srinagar, 10 July: In a major push for development in the Zadibal constituency, MLA Zadibal and Chief Spokesperson of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, Tanvir Sadiq, today released an amount of ₹300 lakh from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for critical and urgent works across the constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, Tanvir Sadiq said the allocation marks the beginning of a new era of inclusive growth and infrastructural upliftment. “The era of development has begun. This initiative ensures that every area and every section of the constituency benefits. No one will be left behind,” he said.

The fund will be used for the upgradation of prominent chowks and landmarks such as Alamgiri Bazar, Rainawari Chowk, MK Chowk, Dargah Hazratbal, and Soura Chowk. It also includes the construction and renovation of community halls, development of sports infrastructure for youth, and improvement of lanes, drains, and water pipelines. In addition, financial assistance will be extended for the construction of houses for the economically weaker sections.

The plan also gives importance to the beautification and development of outer premises of several religious and heritage sites, including Dargah Hazratbal, Astan Mir Shamsuddin Iraqi (RA), Makhdoom Sahib (RA), Astan Ahmed Shah Macham (RA), Mirza Kamil Sahib (RA), Astan Habibullah Nowshehri (RA), and Imambara Zadibal. Special attention is being given to residents of Mir Behri Dal and its adjoining areas to improve basic civic amenities and address their long-standing issues. The old Heritage Naidyar Bridge will also be given a facelift.

He said that the newly introduced system for MLAs to upload development works on the official portal has simplified the entire process by eliminating excessive paperwork, making it faster and more efficient for tenders to be issued. Tanvir Sadiq said this digital approach allows for immediate listing of urgent works, enabling concerned departments to swiftly take up execution without unnecessary delays.

He expressed his gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for fulfilling his commitment of enhancing the CDF allocation to ₹4 crore and ensuring its timely release.

Tanvir Sadiq reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive and sustained development, stating that all works will be taken up in a phased and transparent manner by the concerned departments to ensure timely execution and visible impact on the ground.
