Tata Steel Kalinganagar Marks 10 Years of Industrial Excellence and Community Impact
TSK expands to 8 MTPA, leads digital manufacturing, sustainability and social development in Odisha
Mumbai, Nov 18 : Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) has completed a decade of operations, marking a major milestone in its journey of industrial excellence, digital transformation, and community development, the steelmaker announced on Monday.
Commissioned in 2015, TSK has grown into one of India’s most advanced steel manufacturing hubs, setting benchmarks in operational efficiency, technological innovation, workplace safety, and sustainable practices—while building strong partnerships with local communities.
8 MTPA Capacity, ₹50,000-Crore Investment
From an initial production capacity of 3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), TSK has expanded to 8 MTPA with a cumulative investment exceeding ₹50,000 crore the largest organic capacity expansion in Tata Steel’s history. A key achievement has been the commissioning of India’s largest blast furnace.
Today, the plant contributes significantly to India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, producing over 100 grades of high-quality steel and reducing dependence on imports.
‘A New Era for Indian Manufacturing’: CEO
Tata Steel CEO & Managing Director T. V. Narendran said Kalinganagar represents “a new era” for the company.
He noted:
“Kalinganagar tested our resilience, teamwork and faith. Over the past decade, it has shown how growth, technology and sustainability can work in harmony to create lasting value. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the community, Odisha government, employees and partners for their unwavering support.”
Odisha Becomes Tata Steel’s Largest Investment Hub
