Teacher in J&K’s Poonch suspended for “misbehaving” with a female student

10-02-2023 :  Jammu In the Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir, authorities reportedly arrested a teacher from a government school after she allegedly misbehaved with a female student.
The teacher has been suspended by the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Poonch, and a departmental investigation has been ordered against him, according to them. Farooq Ahmed, the Station House Officer (SHO) at Gursai Police Station, stated that the teacher was arrested as a result of the accusations.

The school’s employees had left to go to a funeral. “There was only the accused teacher left in the building,” he claimed.

According to Ahmed, the accused has been charged with violating both Section 8/10 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act and Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (assault or criminal force to a woman with the aim to outrage her modesty).
