Team RTO Jammu launches special drives against traffic violators, recovers Rs 7.62 lakh fine

JAMMU, MAY 13: A team of the Motor Vehicles Department, headed by RTO, Jammu,  Pankaj Bhagotra laid special naka at different locations on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway from May 1, 2023, to May 13, 2023, for checking visible offenses under Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989.

 

During the period, nearly 350 vehicles, which included Buses, Tippers, Trucks, School Buses and Tempo Travellers, were checked for various offenses viz. Route Permit violations, Overloading, Over speeding, protruding of rods, without Uniform, over height, disobedience, without PUCC, without HSRP, without Driving License, etc., out of which 131 vehicles were challaned/compounded. An amount of Rs 4.32 lakh was realized on the spot from violators and Rs. 3.30 lakh is expected from the remaining challans.

 

The enforcement team comprised Rehana Tabassam ARTO (HQ), Jammu, Esha Chib ARTO(G), Kuldeep Singh ARTO (P), Neeraj Sharma, ARTO (Flying Squad), Motor vehicles Inspectors, Surinder Kumar, Vikas Srivats and Jasbir Singh.
