Terror Infrastructure in J&K Has Been Dismantled, Our Mission Will End Only With Total Eradication of Terrorism: DGP Nalin Prabhat
Jammu, April 7: Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, on Monday declared that the terror ecosystem and infrastructure in the Union Territory have already been dismantled, crediting Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his unwavering support and visionary “zero-terror” strategy.
Speaking at a solemn function held at the Raj Bhawan, where Home Minister Shah personally handed over appointment letters to the families of 11 martyrs—10 of whom were from the Jammu and Kashmir Police—DGP Prabhat paid heartfelt tributes to the fallen heroes and reaffirmed the force’s unflinching commitment to eliminating terrorism in its entirety from the region.
“We have already demolished the terror ecosystem and infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir,” said Prabhat, adding that “our mission will not end here. The police force will not rest until terrorism is completely wiped out from the Union Territory.”
Highlighting the immense sacrifices made by the police force over the past three decades, the DGP revealed that 1,614 police personnel, including 515 Special Police Officers (SPOs), have laid down their lives in the battle against terrorism since 1989. “Their sacrifice is a testament to the unwavering courage and commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in ensuring peace and security for the people,” he said.
Prabhat praised the Home Minister for implementing bold and effective strategies that have bolstered the morale and operational capacity of the police force. “The implementation of the ‘zero-terror’ policy and the consistent backing from the Home Ministry have turned the J&K Police into a strategically empowered force,” he noted.
He further emphasized the growing synergy among all security agencies operating in Jammu and Kashmir, crediting Shah’s leadership for enhancing inter-agency coordination, operational preparedness, and overall strategic dominance.
“In addition to infrastructure security, the Home Minister has been instrumental in facilitating specialized training in general warfare, camp security, and area domination—further sharpening our capabilities in counter-terror operations,” the DGP added.
