Test Twenty Launches Coach Equity Programme to Empower Cricket Coaches
Programme offers real equity to cricket coaches worldwide, recognising their contributions to nurturing talent in the innovative four innings, 20-over format.
New Delhi, Dec 25: Test Twenty, the innovative cricket format featuring four innings of 20 overs, has taken a transformative step in recognising the role of grassroots coaches with the launch of its Coach Equity Programme. The initiative, announced by parent company Parity Sports on Wednesday, allows coaches globally to earn real equity in the platform they help build.
For the first time in cricket history, coaches will not only contribute to the sport but also become stakeholders. Through the programme, coaches earn Coach Equity Points (CEPs), a digital reward mechanism that quantifies their contributions. At the end of each season, accumulated CEPs are converted into equity in Parity Sports, giving coaches a tangible stake in the success of Test Twenty.
Madan Lal, World Cup-winning cricketer, said, “The Test Twenty Coach Equity Programme is more than an initiative; it places grassroots coaches at the heart of cricket’s growth, elevating their contributions to a new level.”
Former BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah described the initiative as aligning with Test Twenty’s broader vision, saying it bridges the timeless spirit of Test cricket with modern play while providing young talent worldwide a stage to rise.
Cricket commentator and former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra highlighted its historic nature, noting, “For too long, grassroots coaches have been unsung heroes. Test Twenty’s initiative gives them a stake in the future they help build a revolutionary move for the sport.”
International cricket leaders also hailed the programme. Phil Simmons, Head Coach of Bangladesh, said, “By bringing coaches into the equity circle, Test Twenty is ensuring those who cultivate talent are rewarded and empowered. It is a game-changing vision.”
Gaurav Bahirvani, Founder and CEO of Test Twenty, emphasised the initiative’s mission: “Before the crowds, before the caps, there is always a grassroots coach shaping the next generation. This programme rewrites the equation, giving them ownership, recognition, and long-term value.”
The Coach Equity Programme is invitation-based, open to grassroots coaches, academy leaders, and personal mentors of young talent worldwide. Interested coaches can initiate dialogue at coach@testtwenty.com

Designed to be merit-led, inclusive, and long-term in impact, the programme marks a fundamental shift in cricket’s ecosystem, ensuring that those who nurture talent share directly in the growth and success of the sport.
