The Odyssey’ Trailer: Christopher Nolan Shows Matt Damon’s Brutal Survival After Trojan War

HOLLYWOOD, Dec 23: Christopher Nolan is back with a legendary journey to ancient Greece. The first teaser trailer for ‘The Odyssey’ has dropped, promising a dark, thrilling, and visually stunning adaptation of Homer’s epic tale.
Matt Damon stars as Odysseus, the warrior striving to return home after the brutal Trojan War. The teaser highlights his struggle for survival across treacherous seas and unknown lands. Shipwrecks, crashing waves, and silent treks across desolate terrain underscore the perilous and exhausting nature of his journey.
One standout moment revisits the Trojan Horse, showing Odysseus and his soldiers hiding inside it, a nod to the clever tactic that changed history. Other glimpses include shadowy caves, turbulent seas, and the looming threat of a giant beast, hinting at the dangers Odysseus must face.
The film boasts a star-studded cast, with Anne Hathaway as Penelope, Tom Holland as their son Telemachus, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Mia Goth, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal, and John Leguizamo rounding out the ensemble. Damon’s first-look costume photos, released earlier by Universal, set the tone for the film’s intense and epic mood.
‘The Odyssey’ is being filmed across multiple countries using state of the art IMAX technology. Universal executive Jim Orr called it a “onc -in a generation cinematic masterpiece,” noting that even Homer himself would be proud. Actor John Leguizamo praised Nolan’s creative freedom and vision on set.
Following the critical and commercial success of ‘Oppenheimer’, which swept seven Oscars in 2024, expectations are sky-high for Nolan’s latest epic.
