Theft Shockwaves: Three Arrested for Stealing Donations from Mosques and Temples in Kishtwar

JAMMU, Oct 12: Authorities in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir have apprehended three individuals in connection with a string of thefts targeting religious places, according to police reports released on Saturday. The suspects were allegedly involved in stealing donations from various religious sites, including four mosques and two temples, during the night of September 20-21.

The thefts occurred in several remote villages of the Dachhan area, prompting local law enforcement to take immediate action. Upon receiving reports of the thefts, police registered a case under applicable legal provisions. In response, a special investigation team (SIT) was formed to delve into the matter.

The police spokesperson confirmed that the SIT successfully identified and arrested the three suspects, recovering stolen property from their possession. Additionally, tools used to forcibly open the donation boxes were also confiscated during the operation.

The incidents have raised concerns within the community, highlighting the need for increased security measures at places of worship. Local residents expressed relief at the swift police action and the recovery of stolen items, emphasizing the importance of preserving the sanctity of religious sites.
