Total Failure of BJP Govt in Controlling Militant Activity, Civillian Killings in J&K on the Rise: Sawhney

16-12-2022: Former Minister J&K and Senior Congress leader Yogesh Sawhney on Friday, in a statement, condemned the killing of two civilians by militants outside an Army camp in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, accusing the BJP government of failing to control militant activity. Speaking on the incident, Sawhney demanded that the Home Minister must resign for his failure to protect the innocent civilians in the region. Militant activity and civilian killings are on the rise, and the BJP has completely failed in handling the law and order in the UT. There is a surge in cross-border infiltration attempts by armed terrorists across and the incompetency of the BJP to bring the situation under control is leading to the killings of several innocents, he stated.

The former Minister said that attempts that have been made by militants in the last few years have been unprecedented, and the Center has failed to intercept them. The ongoing militancy in Jammu and Kashmir has created tension among the locals concerning their security and safety, and it is the total failure of the Home Minister and the BJP Government. BJP is completely incompetent in handling Jammu Kashmir. The entire nation is rattled by this violence and terror that is ensuing in the region, however, the BJP Government’s inaction is extremely concerning. Ruthless and open killings of people is increasing in Jammu Kashmir under the watch of this government and the militants are becoming shamelessly bolder. The government on the other hand is sitting on the sidelines and only spreading a false narrative that they have been succeeding at reducing terrorism in J&K, which is an utter and white lie, said Sawhney.

Sawhney strongly demanded the resignation of the Home Minister on account of his failure to protect the Civilians from Militant Activity. He said that the Home Minister must resign as every resident of J&K wants peace and safety which they have miserably failed in providing. The families of the deceased people will spend their whole lives with this loss, while the BJP government will comfortably fail to act against and on such acts of terrorism. Sawhney pressed the Center for an official explanation and sought that those responsible should be severely punished and brought to justice. BJP leadership is also answerable to the public for failing to ensure national security, he added.
