Tragic Accident Claims Four Lives as Tree Collapses on Bakerwal Family’s Tent in Kishtwar Woods
25-05-2023 : Tragedy struck a Bakerwal family when a devastating accident claimed the lives of four of its members. In the serene forests of Bahlna, located in Kishtwar district, a tree unexpectedly toppled, tragically landing on their makeshift tent. The incident occurred during the late hours of the previous night, as fierce winds and relentless rainfall battered the area.
The victims have been identified as Nazir Ahmed, aged 55, his wife Anwar Begum, aged 42, Shama Begum, aged 26 (wife of Shoket Ahmed), and Shakeel Banoo, aged 17. Each of them hailed from the Kathua district, their lives abruptly cut short by the unforeseen calamity.
In response to the devastating event, the Station House Officer Kishtwar, Abid Bukhari, has confirmed the registration of a case associated with the incident. The authorities are taking necessary measures to investigate the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident, providing support and seeking answers for the grieving family and the community at large.
