Tragic Accident on NH-44, Tempo Overturns in Udhampur, One Killed, Multiple Injured
Tragedy strikes early morning on Jammu–Srinagar highway, injured rushed to GMC Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, Sep 11: A tragic accident on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) left one person dead and several others injured after a tempo overturned near Celebration Hall, Battal Ballian on Thursday morning.
The vehicle, traveling from Jammu towards Udhampur around 4:30 AM, reportedly lost control and turned turtle, injuring multiple passengers. All the injured were immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Udhampur for treatment.
Among the victims, Shakeel (40), son of Irshad from Punia, Bihar, succumbed to his injuries, authorities confirmed.
Police have registered a case and initiated investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
